Academia-Practice Partnerships

The Academia-Practice Partnerships (APP) Committee strives to improve structural engineering education for college students and engineers-in-training.  These efforts advance NCSEA’s mission to support structural engineers to be highly qualified professionals and successful leaders.

The Committee realizes this purpose through the following initiatives:

  • Fostering college student and practitioner engagement at the state-level Structural Engineers Associations
  • Promoting courses, skills, and student learning outcomes necessary for successful transitions from college student to professional engineer
  • Connecting engineers-in-training with resources to broaden their skillsets and achieve licensure
  • Collaborating with complementary organizations such as AISC Partners-in-Education and the SEI committee for the Reform of structural engineering education on resources for college students and engineers-in-training
