Structural General Notes and Specifications: Integration Issues and Recommendations
Course will examine why structural general notes are necessary, their
essential content, and what content commonly included can be omitted
from these drawing notes. The course will also look at typical structural
engineering work results specifications by first identifying typical
Sections in the various Divisions of MasterFormat®, and some typical
examples of essential specifications content. Finally, the course
will examine how these two components can work together in an integrated
way to avoid duplication and redundancy, which can result in costly
conflicts in the construction documents.

President of The Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), a Fellow of CSI, a
Certified Construction Specifier (CCS), and a Certified Construction Contract
Administrator (CCCA).
