Successfully Incorporating Structural Components Into Your Metal Plate Connected Wood Truss Projects by SBCA – Free STRUCTURE Sponsored Webinar

April 8, 2026 | Wed 12:00 America/Chicago

Duration: 1.0 Hour

$

Structural building components, including metal plate connected wood trusses, offer efficient and cost-effective solutions for residential and light-frame commercial construction. However, successfully incorporating these components into a building design requires a clear understanding of the delegated design process and the roles of the engineer of record (EOR), truss designer, and component manufacturer. This session will examine how structural engineers can effectively integrate trusses into their projects by clearly defining design criteria in construction documents, coordinating with delegated designers, and reviewing truss submittals for compatibility with the overall structural system. Guidance from the International Building Code (IBC), ANSI/TPI 1, and industry resources such as SBCA’s BCSI guide will be used to highlight best practices that reduce ambiguity, improve coordination, and help ensure truss systems perform as intended.

  • There is no continuing education credit being offered for this presentation
  • This webinar will be recorded and made available on the STRUCTURE website.
