The NCSEA Foundation’s AI Grant Team has been busy giving presentations and making connections through local SEAs as part of their AI Partnerships Initiative.

  • Dave Martin, Aditya Kaushik, and John-Michael Wong presented at a pre-conference AI Workshop during the 2024 SEAOC Convention in Portland, Oregon. The Convention included delegates from other Pacific Northwest SEAs. The AI Workshop discussed integrating AI technologies into structural engineering, BIM, and business workflows. At the workshop, they discussed actionable strategies for embedding AI into firms’ operations, explored the impact of AI on the structural engineering industry, and provided initial guidelines for practical, private, and ethical adoption of AI.
  • Sheng Zheng and Aditya Kaushik met with a representative from SEAC to start discussing interest in AI among the members, and possible opportunities for future seminars, presentations, workshops, and tutorials at a local level.
  • Andrew Sundal gave a presentation to MNSEA describing the importance of AI and future applications of relevance to the SE profession.

If you would like help furthering AI engagement within your local SEA, please contact the NCSEA Foundation and plan on connecting with the AI Grant Team at the NCSEA Summit in November!
