Recently, Mackenzie presented the NCSEA Foundation with a $15,000 donation to establish the Mackenzie Diversity in Engineering Scholarship. The donation from Mackenzie will support an annual $3,250 scholarship for four years.

Mackenzie Board Member Josh McDowell, SE said, “This is a proud moment for Mackenzie. Our longstanding commitment to supporting under-represented communities in the AEC profession is exemplified by this partnership with the NCSEA Foundation’s Diversity in Structural Engineering Scholarship program.”

Mackenzie is a design firm that specializes in architecture, interiors, engineering and planning. Locations in Portland, Ore., Seattle and Vancouver, Wa.

The NCSEA Diversity in Structural Engineering Scholarship program was established by the NCSEA Foundation in 2021 to award funding to students who have been historically underrecognized in structural engineering (including but not limited to Black/African Americans, Native/Indigenous Americans, Hispanics/Latinos, and other people of color, those with disabilities and LGBTQIA+). Multiple scholarships are presented annually to junior college students, undergraduate students, and/or graduate students pursuing degrees in structural engineering.

Applications for the Diversity in Structural Engineering scholarships are now open.
