In recognition of National Volunteer Month this April, the National Council of Structural Engineers Associations (NCSEA) proudly celebrates the dedicated volunteers who serve across its committees—driving the work that supports, connects, and advances the structural engineering profession.

From Code Advisory and Education to Resilience, Sustainable Design, and Structural Engineering Emergency Response (SEER), NCSEA’s committees bring together professionals from across the country who generously contribute their time and expertise. These volunteers play a critical role in shaping programs, guiding initiatives, and strengthening the profession at every level.

NCSEA’s committee work spans a wide range of focus areas, including Academia-Practice Partnerships (APP), Communications, Structural Engineering Engagement and Equity (SE3), Structural Licensure, and Young Member Support. Together, these groups help ensure that NCSEA remains responsive to the evolving needs of engineers, firms, and communities.

“NCSEA’s impact is made possible by the passion and commitment of our volunteers,” said Al Spada, Executive Director and CEO of NCSEA. “Their willingness to give back strengthens not only our organization, but the future of structural engineering as a whole.”

As NCSEA celebrates Volunteer Month, the organization extends its sincere gratitude to all committee members whose contributions continue to move the profession forward.
