Becoming Steel Smart: 10 Overlooked AISC Resources You Need to Know
Presented by AISC
Unlock the full potential of your next structural steel project by discovering 10 often-overlooked resources from the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) to add to your design toolbox. Whether you’re referencing prototype steel buildings, accessing design guide cheat sheets, or evaluating steel section availability, there’s an AISC resource to meet your project needs. This presentation highlights three key categories of resources: design resources that expand your understanding of structural steel, material selection resources that help optimize your design workflows, and cross-disciplinary resources that enhance collaboration among architects, engineers, and fabricators.

Old Walls, New Loads: Masonry Adaptive Reuse, Retrofit & Historic Restoration
Presented by PYTHON Fasteners
Adaptive reuse puts modern loads into walls that were never designed for them, often with preservation constraints on top. This session focuses on what has been observed in earthquake reconnaissance of retrofitted building populations after real events, case studies that highlight how retrofit choice and specific detailing drove successful project outcomes, and full-scale experimental research validating the performance of these retrofits and the design procedure behind them. We will look at how that evidence aligns with ASCE 41 and the IEBC, including the gaps and risks in existing detailing practices, and how the choice of masonry retrofit methodology can drive better outcomes for building owners and communities.

Back to the Future: How AI Agents Will Reshape Architecture and Engineering
Presented by Mosaic
Your ERP tells you what you’ve already spent — the past. It can’t tell you whether next quarter’s work is staffed, which teams are under-booked, or when you’ll need to hire. That planning gap lives in spreadsheets, usually several versions of them, maintained by different people, none of which quite agree.
Mosaic is the windshield for the road ahead: what’s coming, and what you can still do about it. It plugs into any ERP: Deltek, Unanet, BST Global, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks — eliminates duplicate data entry, and turns the financial data you already have into a live view of who is working on what, where, and when.
In this session we’ll show Mosaic’s AI planning assistant, doing the work that firms currently do by hand.

Catch More Errors in 30 Minutes Than a Week of Manual Review
Presented by Structured AI
Our AI agents learn your firm’s standards, apply the relevant codes, and read every page of a set, then return a clear list of what’s wrong, where it sits, and how to fix it. Run compliance reviews across thousands of pages in minutes, chat with your drawings for sourced answers, build custom checks in plain English, compare versions, overlay disciplines, and close out comments — all within a single platform, with a full audit trail on every finding.
See a live walkthrough of how multi-disciplinary design firms are using Structured AI to catch 10x more errors, reduce RFIs and change orders, and free their engineers to focus on actual design work.

What If Structural Engineers Helped Build the Software They Use?
Presented by Pirros
Structural engineers are often asked to adopt tools that fundamentally change how they work, without having had a voice in how those tools were designed. That disconnect can turn new technology into another process teams have to work around. Before founding Pirros, Ari Baranian worked as a structural engineer and experienced that disconnect firsthand. Using the development of a new QA/QC product as a case study, he will describe how his engineering experience helped him identify problems with traditional QA/QC processes, and how he partnered directly with Pirros clients to design, test, and refine the new product. Attendees will learn how structural engineering firms can provide feedback that shapes product decisions and how software teams can involve clients more effectively throughout development. Both sides will leave with practical ways to build stronger working relationships, and create tools that better reflect real project workflows.

Do Plastic Webs Matter? Seismic Performance of Nudura ICF Shear Walls Under Cyclic Loading
Presented by Tremco
This talk will discuss the results of a recent research project undertaken by Tremco involving full scale reinforced concrete shear walls constructed with the Nudura system. The research project evaluated the seismic performance of reinforced concrete shear walls constructed with Nudura’s Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs), addressing concerns that the system’s permanent plastic webs could weaken in-plane shear resistance. Full-scale cyclic tests performed at Eucentre compared ICF walls with conventionally formed walls under both shear- and flexure-governed conditions. Results showed no significant differences in strength, stiffness, ductility, or cyclic response, with no evidence that the plastic webs weakened performance. The findings support the use of ICF construction for reinforced concrete shear walls in seismic applications, including Specially Reinforced Concrete Shear Walls in high-seismic regions.
