Speakers:
Emily Lorenz, P.E., F-ACI, is an independent consulting engineer in the areas of LCA, EPDs, PCRs, green building, and sustainability. She actively participates as vice-chair of the Envelope Subcommittee developing the commercial provisions of the 2024 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), and as a voting member of several committees including the SEI Sustainability Committee, the Envelope Subcommittee of ASHRAE 90.1, the ASTM International Committee E60 on Sustainability, and the American Concrete Institute’s building code subcommittee on sustainability. Lorenz is also an expert to ISO TC59\SC17\WG3 Environmental Declarations of Products.
Shana Kelley, P.E., S.E., is the Director of Sustainable Design in the Seattle office of KPFF Consulting Engineers. With over 20 years of experience, she works closely with developers, contractors, and public agencies to incorporate sustainable practices using a variety of materials. She has a broad range of experience performing Life Cycle Assessments and Embodied Carbon evaluations for many different project types. Shana serves on the steering committee for the Carbon Leadership Forum – Seattle Chapter and is also the chair of the ACI 318 Sustainability Subcommittee, which is working to incorporate sustainability provisions into the next concrete building code.
Alana Guzzetta, P.E., is the manager of Vulcan Materials Company’s National Research Laboratory. Located in San Jose, CA, this lab is the company’s research resource for testing and vetting new materials for use in concrete ready-mix. She has a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from San Jose State and has worked in the research lab since 2011. Alana’s role also involves collaboration with architects, engineers, and sustainability consultants to develop concrete specifications that are performance-based and incorporate achievable embodied carbon goals.

NCSEA Webinars and Digital Events Cancellation and Refund Policies

Webinar Cancellation

By NCSEA: If a webinar is canceled by NCSEA, all registered attendees will be notified via email. NCSEA will issue a full refund if the event cannot be rescheduled. If the event is rescheduled and a registrant can not attend on the rescheduled date, NCSEA will offer a credit in the amount of the purchase price.

By Registrant/Attendee: Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance of the webinar (or the first webinar in the case of a series or bundle) and in writing via email ( ncsea@ncsea.com) with the subject line “NCSEA Webinar Cancellation” and include the following in the body of the email: Title of Webinar, Order/Invoice Number, Name of Registrant, and Reason for Cancellation. No telephone refund requests will be accepted.

If the request has been approved, NCSEA can do one of the following:

  • Refund the amount back to the original order payment method (a $25 cancellation processing fee will be assessed)
  • Issue a full credit on the purchaser’s account that can be used towards a future webinar/event.

If you are unable to attend the webinar and the cancellation deadline has passed, a recording will be available (in most cases) in the Education Portal after the webinar has concluded.
Refunds are not granted due to attendee technology issues. It is your responsibility as the webinar attendee to test your computer setup prior to the start of the webinar.
