The Resilience Committee advances NCSEA’s commitment to resilient communities by educating the structural engineering profession on resilient approaches to planning, design, and construction through collective experiences in the multi-hazard environment. The committee seeks to provide a multidisciplinary collaboration platform to formulate recommendations and innovations to enhance resilience in the built environment.
The Committee realizes this purpose through the following initiatives:
- Providing education, guidance, and tools to NCSEA committees and Structural Engineers Associations for incorporating resilience into design of the built environment
- Collaborating and advocating with other industry organizations that are influencing and developing community resilience
- Exerting a positive influence on the development and application of resilience in codes and standards
- Advancing opportunities to partner with organizations on the development and implementation of post-event evaluation programs
